What is chiropractic?
The body has a framework of tissues, bones and nerves that make the body work, and this is called the neuromusculoskeletal system. Through various things such as inactivity, accidents, everyday life, and even stress, this system can be put under pressure, causing discomfort, stiffness and pain. Our practitioners use various techniques, such as soft tissue mobilisation, joint manipulation, advice and exercise prescription to help ease these symptoms.
What can we treat?
Every person and every condition is unique. Below is a list of common things we can help with, described using language used by the general public. This is not an exhaustive, medically accurate list of what chiropractic might be able to help with. If you would like a more accurate explanation of whether we can deal with your condition then please contact us.
Plans of care.
Your practitioner will discuss your plan of care depending on your condition. We can help with symptoms that have been there for a very short time or a very long time, with intervention and advice changing according to your history with your symptoms.
Acute CarePlans of care for symptoms that have been present for a short period of time, such as recent falls, injuries from activity, and muscle spasms.
|
Chronic CarePlans of care for symptoms that have been present for a longer period of time, such as a persistent neck pain that has been there for many months or years.
|
Ongoing CareRegular care for those who would like supportive sessions to help with their work posture, active lifestyle, or underlying musculoskeletal condition.
|
Exercise Prescription

"Throughout my life, I have grown up in an environment surrounded by healthcare. My grandfather was a GP and my father was a chiropractor, both working here in Cornwall. I was inspired and sought to follow in their footsteps, and so I was drawn to chiropractic.
The complicated science behind what causes pain to develop and persist is ever advancing and yielding incredible answers. Better yet, the research is telling us that we can do something about it. I believe that the impact that we can have on our patients can be great, and as such I aim to treat each patient as unique as the last, with the intent of having each patient become self-sufficient in their own pain management. The feeling of aiding people through their issues never fails to be rewarding. In order to round out my study, I have a certification in mat pilates and am currently doing a postgraduate diploma in therapeutic counseling. In my down time, I like to relax with some video games and cartoons, go for a run, or do some art. I am also a member of the Three Spires Singers choir here in Truro. " |

“From a young age I have always been interested in healthcare, I had my first chiropractic appointment when I was just a few hours old. My sibling and I grew up having regular treatment, helping us to negotiate growing pains and sports injuries, enabling our smooth development into adulthood.
Now having qualified as a chiropractor I find myself in the privileged position to treat others and witness their progress. The ever evolving and moving state of chiropractic is something that excites me and makes me want to allow every patient to experience it. Helping a patient be able to confidently walk out into the world after working with me to manage their pain is a feeling I’ll never get tired of. When I’m not working I enjoy sport, primarily rugby and running, as well as all the modern vices of video games, movies, tv shows and any new media you can imagine in-between. As someone who has grown up in Cornwall I also feel you can never go wrong with a day on the beach, out on a boat, swimming in the sea or just a good walk anywhere.” |
