What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy (also called talking therapy, or counselling) can be an effective way to explore and manage mental health issues and life's events. By offering a space that is confidential, nonjudgmental, and impartial, psychotherapy can provide the room for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours to help you initiate long-lasting changes.
Therapy, to me, is a collaborative relationship between myself and my clients. The positive effect that a keen listening ear, a nonjudgemental understanding, a confidential space, and an impartial perspective can have someone can be profound. I hope to work alongside you to help aid with any mental health or life issues you might have, and help you explore them as your most authentic self.
I work as a person-centred therapist. This is a non-directive, collaborative way of working that ensures that your story and world are kept at the heart of the matter - nothing’s too big or small. I will be using my skills to provide a space where you can explore your emotions and narrative at your own pace. The work can be tailored to be as gentle or as challenging as you feel you need. Whatever you require, I will aim to compassionately help you unpack the deeper material within your words so that you may be able to make sense of your situation and see things with a perspective that’s more true to you.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical framework. I have a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Studies and a Masters of Chiropractic. I am continuously learning and refining my craft through experience and professional development courses.
My experience in working in physical healthcare taught me that physical pain and tension has a significant link to our emotional and stress states. I have a keen interest in the world of chronic pain and how psychological therapy can help those suffering with it. As a result, I embarked on a journey to learn how to help my existing physical therapy patients through greater awareness of their emotions and stories. I am pleased to say it has been worth it, and am now proud to integrate psychological therapy within my work as a physical therapist.
I offer sessions in-person, online, and over the phone. My in-person premises are located close to the centre of Truro with private parking. I offer new clients a short free consultation to help you decide if what I offer is right for you. I have availability on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Born and bred in Kernow, I have a deep love for my home. Whereas many young people chose to leave the county for the work opportunities it offers, I chose to stay because I wanted to provide something worthwhile for the place I call home. I am a member of a local choir, and choose to spend my time either pottering in the garden or playing video games.
